My memories of Angie

Created by Laura 8 years ago
Anyone who knew Angie knew she could be a stroppy moo but she also had a heart of gold and would help anyone out if she could. She was also very intelligent and she always had the Times or Telegraph cryptic crossword in front of her. She was kind in her ways. She took my brother Ian and cousins Shirley and Trevor on holiday with her. They had never been abroad with a friend before only family and had the best time. Angie was a crazy cat lady and loved her cats Marti and Plonk until sadly they both passed on. Every Friday in the Elm Angie would get up and sing Crocodile Rock and we would always play a trick on her. This was before the days of mobile phones being readily available. We would get someone to ring the pub phone and pretend that one of the neighbours were complaining of the terrible noise which was Angie singing!!! She fell for it and if she had any kind of inkling she never let on. This joke carried on for years. I met Angie in 1984 and she has been a constant comfort to me and the big sister I never had. Angie helped with a lot of fundraising in her lifetime which is why this is so important to me to raise awareness and funds in her memory for the disease that took her from us. Angie I will be eternally grateful for your friendship, your love, your kindness and your wonderful sense of humour. You were one in a million and I will never forget you. You live on in my heart and mind. Laura xx
